The Third Seat Has a Name in the Fandom. Not on the Cast Board.

Rachel Reilly's exit left an open BB28 seat, and Unlocked holds the reveal Friday at 8/7c. The fandom is certain it's Dee Valladares — but PocketBB doesn't add cast rows on chatter. Here's what's official, what's rumor, and where the line is.

The Third Seat Has a Name in the Fandom. Not on the Cast Board.

There is an empty seat in the Big Brother 28 house, and by roughly 8:15p ET Friday night it will probably have a name attached to it. The fandom already thinks it knows the name. The spoiler accounts think they know the name. Some corners of Reddit are so far past "knowing" that they've moved on to nomination speculation.

PocketBB's cast board still shows the seat as open. That's on purpose. This note is the ledger entry for the gap between fandom certainty and on-air confirmation — written before Big Brother: Unlocked closes it.

The official shelf: a replacement exists, and that's all CBS has said

Here's what actually aired and what CBS has actually published.

On premiere night — Thursday, July 9, 2026 — Rachel Reilly walked into the house as a returning reality icon and walked right back out, eliminated in the Jurassic-themed first-HOH sequence (the volcano-and-T-Rex bit we covered in the premiere note). Julie Chen Moonves then confirmed, on air, that someone will take Rachel's place — and told viewers to come back Friday, July 10 at 8/7c for Big Brother: Unlocked to learn who replaces Rachel and who wins the first HOH. Julie framed the live feeds as coming "immediately" after Unlocked; most schedule listings still peg feeds at 9p ET.

On Friday, the official @CBSBigBrother account posted a promo — "rip rachel, you would have loved this reality tv icon..." — teasing that Unlocked has the exclusive reveal of the new player entering tonight. Note what that promo does and doesn't do. It confirms a reveal. It teases a "reality TV icon." It does not name anyone.

That's the entire official shelf. Angela Murray and Rick Devens got their cast rows on premiere night because they were confirmed on premiere night — see the cast board note. The power board has no HOH. The third seat is open.

The rumor shelf: Dee, everywhere, all at once

Now the other shelf, clearly labeled.

The name the entire spoiler ecosystem has converged on is Dee Valladares — Survivor 45 winner, attached in chatter to Survivor 50 and The Challenge. This isn't new. Preseason reporting expected a second Survivor player alongside the Angela/Devens news, and Dee was widely named as the soft third even before the premiere aired.

Post-premiere, the volume went up. Reddit threads on r/BigBrother are running "Who do you think ___ will nominate?" polls that simply assume Dee is HOH. Spoiler discussion threads treat her entry as settled. @TheBigBroTea posted Friday that Taylor and Derrick will reveal the incoming icon on Unlocked and stated flatly: "It is Dee from Survivor 50 and The Challenge." RealityBBQ and hamsterwatch-style spoiler chatter goes a step further, circulating that Dee already won a first HOH that wasn't shown on the premiere episode.

That is a lot of smoke, and we're not pretending otherwise. But none of it — not one item on that list — is CBS naming Dee Valladares as a BB28 houseguest on air or in official materials. As of this writing, it's consensus rumor. Strong rumor. Still rumor.

Why we're writing this before the reveal

Because the honest version of this site has to show its work in both directions. If we only wrote about Dee after Unlocked confirms her, we'd be hiding the fact that the fandom called it days early. If we added her to the cast board now and Unlocked walks out someone else, we'd have printed a fake fact for a Friday afternoon of engagement.

The PocketBB policy, stated plainly: a cast row exists when the name is official — on air or in CBS materials. Not before. Dee Valladares is not on the board. Neither is anyone else. The surprise-houseguests note laid out why this season's whole structure invites exactly this kind of premature certainty, and we're not taking the bait on night three.

What happens after 8p

The flowchart is short:

  • If Unlocked names the replacement — Dee or otherwise — that houseguest gets a cast row within the hour, sourced to the broadcast.
  • If Unlocked crowns a first HOH, the power board gets its first entry the same way.
  • If the spoiler accounts were right, good for them; the board still waited for the receipt.
  • If they were wrong, the chatter was chatter, and this note is the record that we said so.

Feeds are expected right after — Julie said "immediately," listings say 9p ET. Either way, after tonight the era of secondhand information ends and the ledger gets a lot longer.
