Angela and Devens Are On the Board. The Third Seat Is Still Empty.

Premiere night moved Angela Murray and Rick Devens from "reported" to confirmed, and both now have PocketBB cast rows. Rachel Reilly's icon run lasted one night, and her replacement seat stays empty until Julie names a name on Unlocked.

Angela and Devens Are On the Board. The Third Seat Is Still Empty.

Back at the Broveal, CBS confirmed 14 newbies and left a door open: "additional surprise Houseguests on air." We wrote at the time that the surprise Houseguests were the story and that the roster wasn't done. The July 9 premiere just walked two real names through that door — and left a third seat sitting empty on national television.

This is the cast-board note, not the premiere recap. If you want the full scene-by-scene, RHAP and Big Brother Network have you covered below. Here's what the premiere changed on the PocketBB ledger, shelf by shelf.

Confirmed: Angela Murray and Rick Devens

Two names moved from "reported" to "on air" Thursday night, July 9:

  • Angela Murray entered the house after Rome's safety win in the 1988 competition.
  • Rick Devens entered after Chuk's safety win in the Survivor-era comp.

Both were the names Men's Journal and EW had reported during preseason, so the reporting held up. But reporting isn't confirmation, and now confirmation has happened where it counts: on the CBS broadcast.

Accordingly, both now have active rows on the PocketBB cast board — Angela at id 714, Devens at id 715, portraits and all. They sit alongside the 14 Broveal newbies, whose rows haven't changed. That's 16 active Houseguests on the board as of premiere night.

Open: the Rachel seat

Rachel Reilly entered the premiere as the third icon — and exited it the same night, eliminated in the first HOH's Jurassic segment. One-night run, in and out before the feeds even exist.

Her replacement seat is real, but it doesn't have a name. Julie said she'll announce Rachel's replacement on Unlocked, Friday July 10 at 8p. Until that name comes out of Julie's mouth on air, the seat is a placeholder, not a board row. PocketBB does not have a mystery row, a silhouette row, or a "TBA" row. The board reflects confirmed cast, full stop.

Rumor: Dee

The second-Survivor chatter has pointed at Dee since preseason, and premiere night did nothing to confirm or kill it. There is no Dee row on the cast board, and there won't be one unless CBS puts the name on air. If Friday's Unlocked announcement turns out to be Dee, the row appears Friday. If it's someone else, the chatter was chatter. Either way, the receipt comes first.

Board policy, stated plainly

Worth restating since two boards are in play here:

  • Cast board: promotes on on-air confirmation. Angela and Devens got rows because they entered on broadcast, not because outlets reported them weeks ago.
  • Power board: waits for an actual HOH. Premiere night ran safety comps and an HOH competition that, as of the episode's end, hasn't produced a named winner on our timeline. So the power board is empty. No HOH row until there's an HOH.

That's not caution for caution's sake — it's what makes the board useful. When you look at PocketBB, you're looking at what's confirmed, not what's likely.

What changes Friday

Two possible updates land Friday, July 10:

  1. Unlocked at 8p — if Julie names Rachel's replacement, that Houseguest gets a cast row that night.
  2. Feeds at 9p ET — feeds open right after Unlocked, and once an HOH is confirmed, the power board gets its first entry of the season.

By Saturday morning, the board could look meaningfully different: 17 active Houseguests and a sitting HOH. Or the replacement reveal could get stretched further. Either way, the board moves when the receipts do.
