Evening Update: The Pitch

Tuesday. Board unchanged. Barrett pitched Devens a zero-dollar bribe and a shield. Devens will think about it. Three still sit. Blockbuster is Thursday.

Tuesday evening, week 10, and the veto meeting is old news. Drew Campbell used it on himself Monday, Yash Patel named Taylor Brown the replacement, and the board hasn't moved since. What's left of this week is Barrett Pfeiffer, in a gym, pitching Rick Devens for his life. This note covers Monday night into Tuesday. Times are house clock.

The board. HOH: Yash. Veto: Drew — used, on himself, off the block, still wearing the medal. Final noms: Barrett, Melody Morris, Taylor. Seven remain. Nobody goes home until Thursday, which is a locked double. Haley stays ❌. Jury continues: LaTrice is there, Angela is walking in. FAP is still three — Drew, Barrett, Melody — and two of them sit. Icons left standing: Dee Valladares and Devens, neither on this block. Three play Blockbuster Thursday: Barrett, Melody, Taylor. No winner exists yet. Don't let a recap tell you otherwise.

What you already have. Monday afternoon's note is Afternoon Update: Taylor Sits. Drew used the veto on himself. Yash named Taylor the replacement. Sunday night is Evening Update: Pissed He Won It, and the sword talk stays labeled as talk.

Monday leftover. The Icons don't need Barrett gone. They'd just prefer it. 4:42, Devens: he hopes Barrett loses the Blockbuster — "if we get two comp threats out this week." Dee: "and sail to the end." They agree that if they have power during the double, they're putting up Barrett and Drew. That's their plan, not next week's nominations. Dee also volunteers that she doesn't respect Barrett throwing the balance beam — no blood on his hands, her sentence.

4:21, Melody works Drew for a vote. "I want your vote." Drew: I don't know — Barrett asked already, and Taylor.

Texture: 4:54, Barrett notes he never got his HOH laundry back. Packing will be easy; his favorite clothes are gone. Then he's alone — 6:32 to 6:56 on the gym floor, cameras on his face, his feet. 7:55, in bed with a Bible while everyone else sits in a yard circle. That's the picture. There's no speech attached.

Monday night, 11:11. Yash and Drew in the bathroom, laughing. The house thinks they were fighting at the end of the veto, not making a deal. Yash told Dee he was fighting Drew before it ended. Drew says Devens asked why they were arguing. They agree they never spoke about "the plan." Stories match. Dap. Love you. Drew: Barrett is bummed. Yash: now we can rock and roll. File it as their cover story sitting on top of the sword talk already logged in Evening Update: Drew Has the Veto — not a new contract, and nobody gifted anybody anything.

10:41, Melody: "We have 3 more weeks together in this game because I am staying." Her sentence. Not a vote lock.

Tuesday. Quiet morning. Melody up first, staring at the memory wall, head on the table around noon. She and Drew share rooms sometimes. That's texture. Moving on.

The pitch, 3:28. Gym, Barrett and Devens. Barrett opens by naming the absurdity: "As someone who put you up last week, this is crazy." He admits he's short on angles — the Yash blood money is gone, "I could bribe you for nothing." His plan: win Blockbuster and stay. Then the offer: he'd love to be a shield for Devens and Dee, would do anything and put it on anything. Devens: "I would not ask you to do that. I appreciate it." Barrett: it's like breaking up and coming back a week later.

Devens doesn't close the door. He won't burn bridges — lots of threats left, the plea "is not on deaf ears," he's glad Barrett is out here pitching, he'll think about it. Then the flourish: "I think you deserve to be here. I love you. I would love to find each other again." And the hedge inside the compliment: he thinks Barrett will win Blockbuster anyway, so he won't have to prove anything. Barrett's counter: people might think he'd target Devens and Dee, but they didn't put him up this week.

3:34, Barrett thanks Devens for the talk last night — says so much was built up he couldn't feel anything, and it all came out. Devens says he needed the release too. No transcript of that talk exists in public. It stays a thank-you.

After: 3:50, the two of them still working out. 4:52, Barrett silent on the gym floor for quite some time. Then, 5:08, the clothes come back. He's so happy. Taylor calls for immunity shots to celebrate Barrett's laundry. 5:44, he's at the table working a safety pin on the returned clothes. Not load-bearing. Just Tuesday.

Barrett pitched. Devens will think about it. Three still sit. Blockbuster is Thursday. Nothing has been evicted.
