Evening Update: FAP Sits

Yash put up the whole FAP: Drew, Melody, and Barrett. No veto yet. Melody expected it. Yash wants Drew. Devens wants Barrett. Three sit.

Evening Update: FAP Sits

The feeds go to animals at 3:59 and stay there for over an hour, which is how you know the ceremony is happening. At 5:07 they come back and the nomination screen is doing the talking: Drew Campbell, Melody Morris, Barrett Pfeiffer. The entire FAP, all three of them, on the block at once.

It's Friday, September 11, Week 10: Yash Patel is HOH, the nominees are Barrett, Drew, and Melody, no veto has been played, seven people remain, and the jury keeps filling while Thursday's locked double waits at the end of the hall — with last night's Pressure Cooker tease (swords, a target, no result) still hanging over the veto slot.

What you already have

This morning's note did the setup. Yash won the key. Taylor Brown spent the early hours pitching a Drew-and-Devens slate. Yash kissed the key like it owed him money. The FAP funeral math was already on the whiteboard; the only question was whether Yash would do the arithmetic or hedge it.

He did the arithmetic.

The afternoon

The monitor says "NOMINATIONS TODAY" at 10:31, which is the house's version of a weather report.

At 12:38, Taylor is in the HOH working the same shift she worked this morning. She trusts Dee and Devens to keep her. Yash tells her HOHs never get what they want. If it's two nominations, he says, he puts up Drew and Melody. Taylor counters: if you want Barrett out, you compete in the veto. Yash promises he won't put her up, then asks for time to think, which is what people say when they've already thought.

A minute earlier he'd gamed the three-nom branch out loud: Taylor could go up, Barrett could win and pull her down, Devens could go up. "I am allowed to renom Devens," he says. That's Yash's sentence, filed as Yash talking. Taylor said this morning he can't put up Dee — that was her claim. Neither one is a rulebook. You have two people describing the same deal from opposite ends and no notary.

At 1:21, Yash tells Barrett to his face: win this shit. Barrett's response is about Drew — after 70 days, this is a betrayal, and Barrett is surprised at Drew. File that one for the balcony later.

At 1:51 the feeds label the have-nots: Barrett and Devens, by the pool. Two names. That's the list.

At 2:07, Drew comes to Yash with the most dignified concession speech of the week: no hard feelings, I know. Yash: this is how the cookie crumbles. Drew asks to be put in spot 1. Yash: okay, this is how it crumbled. Drew: it is what it is, dog. Somewhere, a screenwriter weeps at dialogue this clean.

At 3:00, Yash runs it past Devens, who wanted a Barrett-Drew pairing but shrugs: I want Barrett out, but I don't care. Yash says he wants Drew. Devens signs off, then names the worst case out loud: three noms, and Melody goes.

Then the animals, then the screen. Drew, Melody, Barrett — in that order. Drew asked for spot 1 and got it. You have the screen, not the podium. Whatever Yash said at the table stays at the table.

And remember the grammar of this week: three nominees, and the Blockbuster isn't done with anyone — after the veto, three still play for the last chair.

Fallout

At 5:23, Melody says the whole summer is ruined, there are seven people, and eats ice cream off Drew's spoon, which is either intimacy or resource-sharing among the condemned. A minute later she and Drew are lamenting together while Barrett walks laps with Devens and Yash eats cake, slightly sore from the comp. At 5:26, Yash asks Melody if she's okay. She says she expected it. The screen just made her prediction official.

By 7:12 the balcony has become a support group. Melody is so worried. Drew: we all should be. Then Drew produces the line of the night — save this one for your luck jar — and reasons that coming off the block would be him earning a vote. Optimism as strategy. It's what he has.

Barrett takes the solo route. Gym floor at 7:16, then camtalk: proud of 70 days, and how many people named Barrett can say that? One. Cold shower, because have-not. He floats a wish list of past houseguests to host tomorrow's comp — Howie, Morgan, Paul, Brittany — which is a want, not a schedule. At 7:52 he's eating alone in the hot tub room. At 8:07 he's in the have-not room reading the bible.

That's where the receipts stop.

The close

Three sit, and they're the same three who've been running the house's math for a month. The veto is next, and it decides everything the screen didn't. Whoever survives it still has a Blockbuster chair to fight for, and Thursday's double is still waiting at the end of the week.

Yash wanted Drew. Devens wants Barrett. Melody is the worst case somebody already said out loud. The cookie, as reported, has crumbled.
