Morning Update: Renom Night After Mallory's Veto

Mallory’s veto win Saturday reshaped the game, closing some options but opening several more, leaving the renomination choice uncertain ahead of Monday’s ceremony. Dee Valladares remains HOH, Mallory holds veto and stays nominated alongside Taylor and Yash, but no renominee is finalized. Overnight conversations split on whether Ashley or Melody should go up, with unanimous agreement only that the renom must be someone who will actually leave to keep Taylor and Yash safe. Dee’s 4 AM backyard session revealed she leans toward nominating Ashley, aiming to evict Yash over Taylor, though vote math remains unclear. Meanwhile, Mallory enjoys her win but worries about influence with the “cool kids”

Morning Update: Renom Night After Mallory's Veto

Mallory's veto win Saturday afternoon closed one door and opened three more. By the time feeds cut to the overnight lull, the house had fully pivoted from "how did that happen" to "who goes up now" — and the answer, per the two loudest war rooms, is somewhere between Ashley and Melody. Nothing is locked. The veto ceremony isn't until Monday — so Mallory keeps the medal and the nomination icon until then — but the renom math got argued out at length overnight, and the most important version of it happened in the backyard after 4 AM.

Here's where things stand as of Sunday morning.

The board hasn't moved

PocketBB still shows Dee Valladares as HOH 🔑, Mallory Aurichio holding the veto 🏅, and three names listed as nominated 🎯: Mallory, Taylor Brown, and Yash Patel. Mallory has the medal but she stays listed as a nominee until Monday's veto ceremony. No renom is locked, and nobody's been evicted. Everything below is feed talk — positioning, not results.

For how we got here, the veto win itself is covered in the prior note — Mallory won around 4:58 PM Saturday.

The nominees' side: Ashley or Melody, and whose game it serves

Taylor and Latrice ran the renom problem twice overnight, and both times landed in the same place: they need a replacement nominee who actually goes home, because that's what keeps Taylor and Yash safe.

At the pool around 8:36–8:47 PM, the first draft: Ashley is a floater, the best outcome is Ashley as renom and Ashley out the door. Taylor said she'd rather sit next to Ashley than Barrett. They figured Dee will handle the renom "diplomatically," while wishing she'd taken a swing at an actual threat — the guys, in their read, being the bigger threats, Haley excepted.

The 2:06–2:35 AM bathroom session was the sharper version. The Melody problem, as they framed it: if Melody goes up, she goes home "for sure" — but Dee has no real rationale for it, and Melody arguably has escape routes (they gamed out veto-path and Blockbuster scenarios). Ashley next to Taylor is more of a toss-up, but Taylor and Latrice talked themselves into the position that the nom has to be Ashley, not Melody — for Dee's game too, not just theirs. Yash, for his part, laid out the Melody case earlier: she played in the veto, and putting her up breaks the trio. Even he conceded Melody is the best renom for them while making Dee look bad.

So the nominee side isn't unified on the name — just on the requirement: the renom has to be someone who leaves.

The HOH side: Dee's 4 AM backyard session is the real intel

The night's biggest drop came late. From roughly 4:16 to 4:51 AM, after Melody left the backyard, Dee, Drew, and Barrett had the closest thing to an actual HOH strategy session we've seen this week.

The headlines:

  • Dee is thinking Ashley as the renom. Drew had assumed Melody; Dee's counter was that Ashley has more influence. Drew walked through Blockbuster timing as part of the calculus.
  • Dee wants Yash out over Taylor. That's the target preference straight from the HOH's mouth — Barrett immediately pressed on whether the votes are there for that, and later noted Yash might go over Ashley anyway.
  • Drew spilled his upside-down alliance with Melody to Dee and Barrett, and they laughed about it. Drew's pitch: he could tell Melody how to vote. Worth flagging — this was played as a joke-adjacent reveal, and the upside-down thing has only ever been early naming, not a locked final-two.
  • The three had fun with "secret alliance" talk — don't move without Drew and Barrett, Drew calling them "4 strong." That's feed banter, not a board-locked alliance. Noted, not certified.
  • Dee said she's happy Mallory won the veto, which is worth logging given how hard the house soft-landed her overnight into Saturday.
  • House map moment: the "red corner" — Haley, Chuk, Kamu — got labeled from this side too, matching the "cool kids" tag floating elsewhere.

Feeds came back at 6:16 AM with Dee in the HOH bed. If the Ashley lean holds through Monday's ceremony, the nominee side gets what it asked for — though not for the reasons it pitched.

Mallory's morning after

Mallory spent the night doing exactly what a fresh veto winner should: enjoying it and worrying anyway. Yash told her to milk the win (~11:42 PM), and that the veto proves she's smart. Latrice crowned her legend of the day. Taylor credited the Zhu Zhu pets for the comp win around 1:34 AM; Latrice called it home court advantage.

Under the celebration, real anxiety. Around 1:17 AM with Barrett, Mallory stressed the trio with Lyric and Melody isn't official — and that she's scared to be publicly hung with them. She thinks Haley is in Dee's ear, wants a one-on-one about the renom, and by 2:43 AM was conceding she may not be able to influence it at all with the "cool kids" (Haley/Chuk/Kamu) so close to the HOH. She's guessing Barrett or Ashley goes up (~1:04 AM). At 1 AM she was drafting her own words for a veto ceremony speech — and that ceremony is Monday, not today.

Earlier in the evening (~7:52 PM), she was unsure about Drew and said she'd put Dee up if she won HOH. File that for later.

The quiet corner: Rome and Lyric

Lighter thread, worth logging. Around 2:51 AM, Rome and Lyric had a winners-energy talk — Lyric says she only trusts Rome and Jason, and if they made a final two, she'd want Rome to win. That's showmance/F2 talk, not a locked deal on any board. Related texture from Jason to Lyric at 11:20 PM: the muscle group keeps each other safe, and Chuk has cooled on Taylor now that Mallory is safe.

What's still open

Everything that matters, honestly. The veto ceremony is Monday — so this is a long runway of renom lobbying, not a same-day flip. The renom isn't locked — Ashley is the lean from both the HOH backyard session and the nominee war room, but Melody's name was live all night and Dee has until Monday to change her mind. And the Blockbuster still looms over all of it, which is exactly why Taylor and Latrice were gaming out escape paths at 2 AM.

The easy boot saved herself. Monday's ceremony decides who inherits the seat.
