Evening Update: LaTrice Wins Veto

Saturday afternoon LaTrice Verrett won Week 7 veto — Feel the Burn — after it came down to her and Taylor. The ceremony has not happened; she still sits with Taylor Brown and Drew Campbell. The house assumes she takes herself off. Dee is leaning Haley as the replacement, with Mallory as the other name; Drew wants Yash and Dee does not. Evening: Angela and Taylor blew up; LaTrice cleared HOH and told Taylor to shut it until they survive the week.

Evening Update: LaTrice Wins Veto

Saturday afternoon into evening, house PT — and it was LaTrice Verrett's afternoon, her evening, and honestly her house.

At 3:18 PM, with feeds still parked on animals, Jokers dropped "Lala with Veto" as an image, then confirmed it at 3:27 PM: Lala won the Power of Veto. On the block since last night — when Dee named her alongside Taylor Brown and Drew Campbell — LaTrice took the one exit that didn't require trusting anybody. To be clear: the ceremony hasn't happened. She still sits on the block until she uses it, and current noms are still LaTrice, Taylor, and Drew. But nobody in that house is planning like it's an open question.

The win

The comp got a name later from Mallory: Feel the Burn, a tongue and hip-thrust endurance gauntlet. Barrett gave the scorecard — he could not keep up with Lala's tongue, she beat him on the first and last legs, and he took the hip one. Yash said he wouldn't have done the thrusting on the internet, and that's all the thrusting commentary this article needs.

Per social, it came down to Taylor and LaTrice at the end, and Taylor was happy for her. Drew's take (also social): now they get to have food for another week. Devens, also on social, said he'd been scared to death for Lala and now she's safe.

This morning makes it sweeter. Angela had promised LaTrice she'd use the veto on her if she won it; LaTrice called herself a sitting duck. She didn't need the favor. She won it herself.

What her veto does to the board

The house assumption is that she takes herself off, which means the whole evening became a renom workshop orbiting her win.

  • 4:28 PM — Dee floated Mallory to Haley as a possible nominee, then, alone, brainstormed how she'd sell it to Barrett — including a private thought about telling him she'd bribed Yash. That's Dee talking to herself, not a confirmed bribe.
  • 5:10 PM — Dee told Barrett she's leaning against putting up Yash.
  • 5:11 PM — Barrett said it'd be nice to get Yash out; Dee said she doesn't want to do everything; Barrett said he's cool with Haley as a renom.
  • 5:17 PM — Barrett told Mallory the renom is Haley. Mallory: works for her.
  • 6:31–6:34 PM — Dee to Angela: Drew wanted Yash up, Drew is good, and it's her game now. And if Haley spills the Mallory-renom talk, Haley is the one who goes up.
  • 6:42 PM — Angela's advice: lock nothing until Sunday night or Monday morning. Don't give anyone a weekend to strategize.

So the renom is a Haley-shaped plan with a Mallory-shaped contingency, and none of it is final by design.

LaTrice, still playing

She didn't coast on the win. At 4:36 PM Taylor even told her not to suggest replacement names — stay out of the pick. At 8:39 PM she sat 1:1 with Dee anyway, who told her: if I win HOH, you're safe. Dee floated Mallory as a future target; LaTrice widened it — Mallory or Melody, either one, you have to break the four (that's FAP: Drew, Barrett, Mallory, Melody). Dee added that she didn't like how Mallory came at LaTrice right after noms, and that won't stand with her.

The pettiness of the day also ran through LaTrice. At 4:57 PM she blocked Mallory from Angela's leftover cake mix; Mallory, a have-not, baked Melody a from-scratch half-birthday cake out of spite or love or both. At 6:06 PM Melody hid LaTrice's head scarf and blankets after Mallory pointed out her stack — Drew disagreed with the stunt and figured he'd get blamed. At 6:12 PM, Drew reminded Melody that LaTrice did win an HOH and a veto. Melody's complaint was hair-flipping. Okay.

The night's still moving

At 8:43 PM, Angela and Taylor got loud in a bedroom — Angela questioning whether they were actually together, Taylor saying she thought they were, then crying: Angela called her unsocial, she has anxiety, she can't trust anyone. Angela apologized for repeating something. Haley jumped in; Devens told Dee that Angela is doing too much. By 9:14 PM Taylor was declaring, "I'm ready to go home. I'm too real for this sh*t!"

And who cleaned it up? At 9:41 PM, LaTrice asked Drew and Haley to leave HOH so she could talk to Dee and Angela alone — Drew was fine, Haley annoyed. Per social, LaTrice read Taylor the riot act: shut your mouth until they make it through the week.

She won the veto at 3:27 and was running crisis management by 9:41. Her day, start to finish.
