Evening Update: Drew and Melody Sit

Friday night. Devens has the key. Drew and Melody sit. Five remain. No veto. Waiting on the medal.

Friday night, September 18. Rick Devens has the key. The return screen did the announcing. Drew Campbell and Melody Morris sit. Five left, two on the block. No veto. Nothing after the noms is real until that gets played.

The board. Week 11. HOH: Devens. Nominees: Drew and Melody. Off the block, still in the house: Taylor Brown and Dee Valladares. Barrett Pfeiffer and Yash Patel are ❌ from Thursday's double. Haley stays ❌. FAP was three — Drew, Barrett, Melody — and Barrett left. Two of that trio sit. Do that math yourself. Both Icons are still standing, and neither of them is on this block.

What you already have. Thursday night is Evening Update: Down to Five. That note waited on the next key. This is the key. Thursday morning is Morning Update: Double Night. We are not rebuilding the double. The bribe stays the bribe.

Friday, before the key settles. Overnight was tiny stacking — the Tiny HOH. Feeds cut around 4:19 and went to pets. The house was not vertical until afternoon. By early afternoon it is locked on feeds: Devens has it. He told Taylor he did not even realize he had to nominate people. He thought he was off the hook. Four names left to pick from, and he is not one of them.

The monitor said NOMINATIONS TODAY. That is a schedule, not a slate.

The pitch. 2:51, Devens says the DR told him noms are soon. Drew would prefer it not be him. Drew's offer: vote Taylor out, or do what you want. Devens: or the person that nom'd me last night. That person is Melody. His sentence, not a speech.

2:53, Drew pitches Melody and Taylor. Says he will throw the veto. Devens floats putting Drew up and taking him down. Drew says no — he will not use the veto if he wins. File all of it as talk. Nobody has a veto yet.

3:15, Drew war-games it: Taylor could win veto, take Melody off, and then it is Drew and Dee on the block. Devens: he has not nominated Taylor all season, and that is his one good thing with her. Also talk. The afternoon logic is the same one Dee and Devens have been running since they stood up: Melody alone is a trap. If Drew wins the veto and pulls her down, Dee is the only replacement left. Putting Drew next to her is how they keep Dee off that chair. That is their math, not a ceremony speech.

3:31, Drew: do not break my heart. Devens: do not do this to me. Drew reminds him he volunteered to go up — the earlier renom, not Thursday's live week. Devens takes responsibility for that. Then he is called to the DR and hopes it is not noms. It is not. He is still waiting on the HOH room.

Through 4:30, Drew keeps pitching. The letters. His grandmother's chain. He saved Dee on the double. If he goes, three women play the F4 HOH against Devens. Devens rubs his temples. Worse than stacking the bricks. You gotta stop.

4:00, not to Drew's face as a contract: Devens wants to keep Drew. He would use the veto on Drew. He will tell Taylor she is safe if she does not use it. Talk. No medal exists.

4:29, Devens to Dee: Drew will feel burned again, but he will do it. Concerns about Melody. 4:34, Taylor promises Devens that if she wins veto she will not use it. Dee believes her. Devens does too. Talk. 4:56, Dee, doing her own math: if Taylor wins and saves Melody and I go up, that is good for me. Her sentence.

Around 5:40, the house gets called to storage. Melody's leftover HOH stash and her letter. She cries on the pod bed with it. Texture — last week's key, not this one. 5:53, Taylor again: 100% promised, will not use it.

The screen. 6:22, Drew is in the Devens shirt and tie and feeds go to animals. Unlocked is on. Not the ceremony yet.

Around 7:08, feeds drop for real. The ceremony happens off-feed. There is no speech to quote, and none gets invented here. 7:37, feeds come back and the screen shows Drew and Melody. BBN: noms as expected. Very little post-nomination chatter.

After. 7:43, Melody lets Drew read her mom's letter. She opens chips. Devens is on the upstairs lounge with HOH food and a beer. 8:07, same patio, same beer: he loves playing these games. Not rich. Has it all. It looks like a Final Two rehearsal. It is not a winner's speech. In the same window, cam talk — Devens talking, not a result — he thinks he could beat everyone in a Final Two except Dee. He needs Dee to get there, and he does not have many more chances to cut her. Jury math stays his math.

8:26, Dee reports Drew came up and said fine you win. Today is the most personal he has taken it. They say they love Drew. Devens: for 22, he is really good at this game.

9:41, Drew and Melody alone upstairs. Everyone else went to bed. Two nominees talking. That is the whole story. 9:43, Melody says she is still riding yesterday; she is not even processing being on the block. 9:44, she calls Taylor the biggest complainer in the house; if she wants to leave, she can leave. House talk. Taylor is not on the block.

Nominations locked. Veto pending. The slate is the slate. Everything else is talk until somebody wins something.
