Monday afternoon Yash did not use the veto. Angela, Dee, and Devens still sit. Dee told him she expected it. Three-nominee Blockbuster is the week. Ceremony speech unseen.

It's Monday afternoon in the house, September 7, and the veto ceremony has come and gone without you. Yash Patel did not use the Power of Veto. Angela Murray, Dee Valladares, and Rick Devens are still the nominees — the same three names from last night, when Devens was asking Barrett whether they could get Yash to use this thing, and telling Taylor he wanted it used on himself.

He did not get it.

Quick board for anyone joining late: Week 9, Barrett Pfeiffer is HOH, Yash held the veto and did not use it, final noms are Angela, Dee, and Devens. Eight people remain, jury has started, Dee and Melody Morris are on slop. Three nominees, one Blockbuster still to play. The week is not over. It's just narrower.

What you already have

You do not need this rebuilt, so here it is in four sentences. Sunday morning, Yash told Barrett and Taylor Brown the veto was for us. Sunday night, Devens made the ask — Barrett in the gym, Taylor after, use this thing, ideally on me. The pitches were made, heard, and filed. Today the file did not move.

Animals, then the answer

You don't see ceremonies. You see what the feeds let you see, which today is a nature documentary with a plot twist buried in it.

11:33 — animals. The ceremony happens somewhere behind them.

12:25 — the BIG BROTHER screen.

12:26 — animals again, briefly, like the control room changed its mind.

12:27 — feeds return.

While the feeds were dark, the public call went up: Big Brother Buzz says Yash did not use the veto, and BB Live Updaters confirms the shape of it — Angela, Dee, and Devens remain on the block. That's the outside lock. The inside lock lands at 12:42, when Dee tells Yash she expected him not to use it, and that she understands. It is, she says, very understandable. Same minute, Yash is in the backyard telling Barrett what the room already knows about the stakes: three return players, get the fuck out of here.

You do not have the ceremony speeches. You do not have whatever bits they planned overnight, because planning a bit and delivering a bit are different feeds, and you only got the animals.

Devens, after

At 12:51, Devens is talking — Yash nearby, Drew Campbell and Barrett running laps in the background — about a guy who has been there for him since the beginning. Rough days. Genuine conversations about family and life. The update doesn't pin the "him" down with a name tag, but Yash is the one standing there in earshot after an unused veto, and Devens is the one still nominated, talking like a man who thought the relationship was worth something at noon on a Monday.

Maybe it is. Relationships are not vetoes. Vetoes get used or they don't; relationships get invoked afterward, in the backyard, at conversational volume, where the person who didn't save you can hear how much you mean it.

Here's the label, because you're owed one: Devens looks toast, and Devens is not toast. He is a nominee with a Blockbuster in front of him, and he won one of those last Thursday. Looking cooked and being evicted are different sports. He gets to play the second one before anyone scores the first.

Pool day, and one small fight

The house does what houses do after ceremonies: it goes outside. From 12:57 to about 1:03, it's pool day. Angela and Devens sit in the shade. Melody is on slop and acting like it. Angela wants a slip and slide. Devens doesn't want the pool until after his DR. This is texture, not story, and you can tell because nobody in it is nominated at each other.

The second movement is quieter. At 1:28, Drew and Melody are at the laundry and the weights, and Melody says the quiet part: you were working with the Icons since day 2, and I do not trust you or Barrett 100%. Drew says she should trust him 100% — you're still taking me? Yes, she says. They're friends and allies. Stop being annoying. Drew hates that he likes her more than everyone else in there, hates when they fight.

Note the number. Not zero trust. Not 100. Somewhere in the gap where FAP lives — Drew, Barrett, Melody, three people, one of whom just said the percentage out loud.

By 2:26, Yash is talking about sliding into DMs. That's where the afternoon leaves you.

Where that leaves it

Three Icons sit. The veto sits unused. Dee expected it and understands it; Devens expected something else and is processing it out loud near the man who did it. Nobody has been evicted. Nobody's Thursday is written. The Blockbuster is the week.

The animals, at least, were consistent.
