Do you think it's best if BBCAN13 includes returning players?
If so, in what capacity? Vets vs. newbies, coaches or something else?

I've been watching Big Brother since season 16 and this year the alliances are forming way too fast without enough backstabbing. Like last night when that one houseguest straight up told everyone their target list during the veto meeting? That move reminded me of Paulie's style in BB18 but without the charisma to back it up. The problem is the bigger alliance keeps winning HOH and just evicting floaters instead of turning on each other early. If they don't start cutting deals soon we're headed for a boring final 5 like season 21. What do you all think about the new twist with the secret room? I feel like it could shake things up if they actually use it for more than just hiding snacks. Also the casting this year has way too many super fans who quote past seasons constantly instead of playing their own game. Curious if anyone else is feeling the same way or if I'm just missing some under the radar strategy plays happening.
Each year, we see hundreds of posts/tweets/comments complaining about the same issues: * Scripted DRs * Too many twists * Inequitable competitions * Battle backs * Too many recruits * Feeds cut too much * Too many days in the season * Over-explaining competitions It is clear after 2 decades under Grodner that production is not interested in fixing these issues. Still, it is not impossible for production to make positive changes to the show, such as the diversity mandate (I am aware it no longer exists). Given this, what is a problem with Big Brother that you can realistically see producers fixing, and how do you think they might fix it? For example, I could see them going back to live Head of Household competitions. I think it would require there to be no more BB Blockbuster.

After the BB25 steamroll, the comps have been MUCH more equitable!

I agree theres too many twists. The big brother game is already a flawless framework that borders the line between social psychological experiment/reality game show. There's literally no need for twists. The raw game itself is already as interesting as it gets and no 2 season's would never be the same, theres endless possibilities. But the constant twists kinda make it feel cheesy and add unnecessary roadblocks in what would otherwise be a flawless framework.

What shocked you the most? Could be during a live show, feeds, or an episode. For me it has to be the BBCAN5 double eviction
I got inspiration for this post from a recent post discussing Ashley's game, and unsurprisingly, the discussion was incredibly polarizing. Especially with Big Brother, I feel like its very hard for people to come on an agreement regarding player discussions because nobody is able to watch and analyze the feeds 24/7, so someones opinion will be biased by the few portions we do catch. But since Ashley had basically no screen time in the episodes, the incongruence in perspective from a lack of common ground was worsened as more attentive viewers could only rely on the feeds when discussing her game, and casuals were described a completely different version of Ashley than the edit portrayed. However, had she been edited properly, it would've been easier to pull out evidence of the subtle moves and manipulation she pulled and would've made it easier for everyone to agree on how good of a game she played. Since BB is live, I can sympathize with the difficulty of knowing which players matter more to the overall narratives, but with how egregiously skewed the edit can be, I think there has to be ways to have a more balanced edit without overloading the viewers with information. So how can Big Brother better edit social players?

Hot take but I actually think the Samoa edit is fine, it shows why the person who lost did, and showed that the winner intentionally stuck with them, which was a strategic move, but absolutely production tends to like the strategic masterminds more

Right the episodes gave Mickey the credit for this move, and while Mickey played a big part, Ashley put a lot of work in too, So much so that the feeds were 90% her in the HoH room with Lauren, it was dedication.

I'm currently rewatching season 12. And every time I watch the reveal bothers me so much. Maybe I'm just too sensitive, but the way Enzo callously reveals the Brigade to Brittany just feels awful to me. It didn't come across as a sensitive move but rather somewhat rubbing it in her face and almost trying to force Lane to be the one to tell her. Am I the only one who saw it this way?

Thank God desi got justice the next season

Yeah I definitely agree since Hayden really won comps towards the end. In a Ragan wins veto scenario, him and Britney have to vote Hayden in final 5. From there, Britney has final 2’s with both Ragan and Lane wanting to take her to it. Ragan and/or Britney do need to win, but this scenario almost guarantees Britney a spot in the f2

Im a relatively new BB viewer, I started with the cook out season to current date. Now im going back to watch the people I know from the challenge in mtv. I know who wins so that doesn't bother me. I just cant believe how cocky swaggy p was!! The robot girl is draining me crying every 5 mins lol Also I thought bb posting live Twitter posts on eviction night was cool! Bring that back!

I mean they did go through a miscarriage together alone, that trauma can bring people together even more. And look at Jess & Cody, they going just as strong

I just wanted to make a post on here about this since I myself will be applying for bb29 since I will finally be able to as I will of course be 21. I’ve been watching since I was 10 and I’ve been telling my friends since at least high school that I would be applying and now I finally have to chance to do so. I don’t wanna toot my own horn but I think I have decent odds-idk I just think I have a personality for it. But besides me I wanted to know if anyone else was planning on applying come the next casting season so we could all share the excitement, unless I’m like freakishly early to thinking about it lmao.

I’m 21 next March, and I’ve been thinking about applying since I was literally 15 years old! Can’t wait. I understand that the odds are not in my favor to make it on but I’m just so psyched to apply, and keep applying until I get it.

I will be 21 this year, but I was gonna wait until BB30 so I can finish college

Maybe I’m just super late to this, but I loved seeing Frankie Grande performing at the Tony Awards tonight! I had no idea he was in Titanique on broadway 🤩
Just to be clear, I’m wondering bc I’m currently on 22 and I went from loving her in 16 to feeling mixed on her game but still respecting it in 18 to absolutely despising how much whinier and childish she got in 22. I’m also aware of the nature of Reindeer Games and the upcoming seasons and who goes when due to looking it up online (like I said, idc about spoilers). However, I realized that RG isn’t really available for streaming anywhere, and people have been saying very good things about her performance on there, so I’m come here to see if anyone who was around for the original airing of if can educate me in exactly how she improved. All contribution is greatly appreciated! Also, sorry for the bad graphics on her photo, lol.
Since big brother Canada will feature a new host and a different location, I expect a whole new look for the house and perhaps the franchise. Do you think the upcoming season will be called BBCAN13, or do you think they’ll revamp it in some other way, especially since it’s being picked up from a different network. I hope they at least give plenty of nods and appreciation to the past seasons. It would also be sweet if they could bring arisa in for her thoughts in some kind of side show.
Top replies
Can’t speak for UK, but down here in Aus they have acknowledged the whole franchise despite channel changes. While they tend to use the year for season numbering (BB2002, BB2013, ect) the show has embraced the whole as one continuous series (even a Fan/Faves season from a few years ago included faves from earlier iterations),
u/theamazingracer21 / 0 upvotes
I remember Arisa saying "Bless whoever scoops us up because we are ready when you are" and in another interview she was asked about a reboot and she said BBCAN is her favourite show...that doesn't sound like someone who wouldn't have done anything to host BBCAN. I think it's more likely that CTV just wanted their own people so it's easier for them to tell people that if they want an extended interview, watch The Social and there are people on Andrea's instagram saying that they never watched BBCAN but love Andrea so will watch it for her so that's probably what CTV wanted

Why can’t a replacement nominee get vetoed when there’s a special power in play? I thought you could veto anyone on the block
Top replies
We never found out if Frank had to name a replacement nominee for the first vetoed houseguest before or after the second veto holder stated their decision, so in this particular case, I’d say “Nobody Knows” is the best we can do Had Ian used his veto on someone, we don’t know if the next action would be Frank naming a replacement of Jenn choosing whether to use her veto on the other person
u/thekyledavid / 0 upvotes
I don't remember what the ruling was back in BB14 (or if it was even asked by the HGs since Ian wasn't going to use it), but in BB25 there was a similar week with 2 vetoes, and the rule there was that, yes, the veto holder going 2nd could save the 1st renom

When does it happen and what do they do all day?
Top replies
Yes. Thats what recruits are for. People here need to realize that this is first and foremost a TV Show and while they are real people, they are basically paid actors and actresses that fill certain role in the show. Sometimes is more evident (BB19 ofc) snd sometimes its not. Sometimes the same recruits/casting fake it and during the game they are another people (Kat BB21 comes to mind. Also Dan in BB10 kinda too although he was an applicant) The same happens with numerous shows, like Survivor. There is the case of someone that made it way further than what was supposed to last. They entered thinking they would be an early out and then enjoy an all inclusive vacation but literally opposite ended up happening and is now one of the biggest fan favorites the show has ever had.

Recent houseguests have said they did not have access to Big Brother seasons in sequester (and were disappointed because they planned on spending some time during sequester watching them)
u/YoBannannaGirl / 0 upvotes

This is my personal opinion on who are the top 50 one time big brother players. This was trickier to do compared to multi-time players due to these players playing once, hence a smaller sample size. But I decided to commit to this regardless.

I personally consider him overrated since I felt like people overhype his game because 1. they like him, and 2. because he was very close with Tiffany. that being said, I think he's a solid player and the best no cookout player outside maybe Alyssa imo who I consider to be underrated.

She wasn’t floundering after Hisam. She was floundering after Jared fucked up her game one time too many. She recovered quite well after Hisam and still had many options. But Felicia choosing her for that kayak punishment really allowed Jared full control. Naturally, he tanked her entire structure. Izzy did her share of damage that week too.

I’m watching big brother 10 for the first time this year! I’ve seen almost every season from 12-27 and finally have had time to go back to the older seasons on my watchlist. As a fan, I knew that Keesha’s birthday was such a memorable moment. I just didn’t have any context. WOW. Jessie stirring the pot! Libra and Keesha dealing with their separate grievances while April juggled both arguments. Jerry trying to direct some of the ladies anger towards Memphis. Memphis getting offended by this, seconds after he was goofing off, and going to confront Jerry. Renny desperately trying to make peace and celebrate Keesha. Michelle getting pissed off because everybody is fighting for no reason. Dan LAYING on the couch completely uninvolved. A funeral dirge of Happy Birthday. Silence. ANYBODY WANT CAKE? More screaming! As a Kindergarten teacher, this really felt like a day at work. Seeing it play out was such a treat. Looking forward to finishing this season!
It doesn’t necessarily have to be someone you like, but someone you’d love to either align yourself with or compete against. Maaaybe controversial, but I’d actually love to play alongside Dick, for the simple fact he’s an excellent strategist. Aligning myself with someone with his mindset would be interesting. As for competing against a past houseguest, I think it would be fun to compete against someone like Eric Stein. He was smooth-talking and a good strategist, but I feel he was also very beatable, which is a rare combination.
It’s no secret that the biggest and crazy thing to happen was obviously Rachel‘s elimination, however I would argue that Rylie‘s eviction and that entire week is truly what changed the trajectory of the entire game because all of the pieces had to align and fall into place and they did.
Would you rather have a game full of geniuses (but they all play with no fear) or a game full of bad players (for maximum chaos) In other words: a cast with 16 dans or a cast with 16 tuckers
I’m kind of wondering who are some of the most strategic players in big brother. Let me know in the comments.

Watching Vanessa on the feeds was incredible. She just had a way of disarming people with her emotions. She was able to smell bullshit from a mile away and even use that to her advantage and call them out straight to their face with no hesitation and she almost always got the truth once she made it clear she knew someone is bullshitting her. Those accusations when done publicly also made her look more credible in general and paint a bigger target on them for being untrustworthy. Her pointing out when people were lying to her also scared many into her submission and gave her nothing but truthfulness after, with no or minimal blowback to Vanessa ever. She was the ultimate gamer and always strategising whether in bed by herself or with others. It hit like crack watching her sway people in real time with her emotions or with just sole strategy. She was instrumental in almost every eviction, playing a hand in them whether she was hoh or not.
u/honeymoonlightttt / 0 upvotes
Agree with this. Will truly laid the blueprint for how this game is played, still to this day. His and Nicole’s chats were definitely instrumental. Danielle and Jason expanded it even more the next season and then so on. Ton of players from those early seasons deserve credit, but i genuinely don’t think the game evolved how it has without Will.

I feel like this move is one of the more debatable bad moves in BB history. Like it isn’t one of those moves where it was like “you make this move you win, if you make the other move you lose.” But it wasn’t smart. He would’ve been guaranteed final 2 if he evicted Diane over Nakomis. I think part of the reason people forget about this move is because he still ultimately made it to the final 2. I also don’t think he had any real win equity up to that point so it wasn’t like a case of a really good player making an error that cost them the win. I will say, evicting your own half sister to go to the final 3 with a showmance is… a choice Let me know your thoughts?

Oh no I didn't think you were saying in judgment! I just wanted to give a bit more context to what you said since BB5 is one of my favorite seasons :)
u/stun4starlight / 0 upvotes
I’m not saying it in a way of judgment. I surely wouldn’t want to meet my ex or estranged family member on this show. It was just speculation I’ve heard from others that watched the season in real time as to why he voted her out.
