Morning Update: Take the Shot
Thursday morning is eviction day and the board has not moved: Drew is HOH; LaTrice, Taylor, and Devens sit. Overnight Yash, Barrett, and Melody said they take the shot if Devens sits — then Melody told Drew that Devens is staying. Blockbuster first. Nothing is locked.

It's Thursday morning, September 3, eviction day, and the house is asleep on two different plans. Last night's note had the script: Dee and Angela drafting a cover story to vote Rick Devens out, Barrett saying he's fine cutting Lala if Devens wins the Blockbuster. Overnight, the other bathroom said the quiet part out loud — Yash, Barrett, and Melody agreeing to keep Lala and take the shot at Devens — and then Melody walked upstairs and told Drew Campbell the exact opposite. Devens is staying, she said. Yash and Barrett are keeping him.
Both of those things happened within thirty minutes of each other. Only one of them can be true tonight.
What you already have
Four sentences of board, then we move on. Drew Campbell is HOH. Final noms are LaTrice Verrett, Taylor Brown, and Rick Devens, after Yash Patel used the veto on himself Monday. Haley Thogmartin is already gone this cycle; nine remain. Tonight is the Blockbuster, then the live eviction — three nominees compete, the winner pulls themselves off, the other two sit for the vote, and Drew only votes in a tie.
The Wednesday afternoon script — Dee's heart not being in it, Angela refusing to look disloyal, Barrett's if-he-sits pointer — is all in last night's note. None of it got rebuilt overnight. Something else got built instead.
The bathroom
At 11:34 PM Dee wipes her eyes in bed and gets called to the DR upstairs. At 11:38 Yash reads the room correctly: grab Barrett now, Dee just went upstairs, this is the window.
By 11:57 it's Yash, Barrett, and Melody in the bathroom, and Yash opens with the thesis: better to keep Lala. Barrett wants to know if Lala would nominate Angela; Yash says Taylor has already told Lala that Angela's relationship is foo foo, so the seed is planted. Melody makes the competitor case at 11:58 — Lala is a better competitor and target, and people keep going home next to Taylor. Yash agrees Lala can win things while there are no questions about Taylor's noms, and Taylor hasn't come close to winning anything.
At 12:00 Melody assigns homework: give Angela a pitch that Lala will never put her up. At 12:01 they say it out loud — Yash says Lala stays, Barrett is down, Melody says yes. Then Melody asks the question directly: are you down to vote Devens out? Barrett: hell yeah. Yash: yes, we take the shot.
At 12:03 Barrett floats a worry — if Devens loses the Blockbuster, Drew might announce he's keeping Devens in a tie. That's Barrett's guess, not a Drew quote from overnight, and Melody's answer is instructive: that would be a dumb move for Drew, so don't tell him. At 12:04 Barrett tells Yash and Melody they're doing amazing, and the feeds cut. Two minutes later they scatter and Devens walks in asking if Yash is in the stall. Timing is a skill.
Yash and Melody linger. Melody has been giving Taylor and Lala Blockbuster advice, and she rates Devens as fast — a sleeper fast. Yash's counter-scouting: Devens still plays sports but he's old. Then, at 12:12, the sentence that explains all of it: Yash says we have swung and missed on every vote. Feeds cut on that one too.
The HOH bed
Fifteen minutes later, Melody is upstairs telling Drew a different show.
At 12:19 Drew asks who she's voting for. Melody: undecided between Lala and Taylor — Lala's a bigger target. That's the Devens-wins pair, presented as her whole map. At 12:22 she adds that Lala is a shield, Yash approached her first, and personally she wants Lala gone because Lala is annoying. Drew agrees Taylor is scary — everyone goes home next to her, and Taylor might not put him up where Lala would.
At 12:25 Drew asks if he should talk to Barrett. Melody says Barrett already agreed, and if she, Yash, and Barrett are three, it's not a big deal if Lala stays. She won't push. Lala is a cushion — Lala goes home over Melody, but not over Taylor.
Then Melody flips the interrogation: tell me what's happening with the votes? Drew hasn't talked to many people, but he prefers Devens stays. And at 12:27 Melody hands him exactly what he wants to hear: Devens is staying. Yash and Barrett are keeping him. Drew, at 12:29: since we're allies, I'd prefer Lala to go. Melody, at 12:30: she won't put Drew or Barrett up if she's HOH.
The rest is face masks and life talk until 3:03 AM, when Drew is asleep and the house goes down. Thursday morning so far: nothing.
The scenarios
If Devens wins the Blockbuster, LaTrice and Taylor sit. Barrett now has two sentences on file: Wednesday's camtalk said he's okay voting Lala out to look loyal; the overnight bathroom said keep Lala, cut Taylor. Those are not the same vote, and nobody should flatten them into one. Yash is keep Lala. Melody told the bathroom keep Lala and told Drew she's undecided but personally wants Lala out and won't push. Drew prefers Lala goes. Dee and Angela's line from yesterday — why cut Lala, there's no fourth vote to save her — stands with no new overnight update. Devens himself said yesterday that if he wins, right now he wants Lala out.
If Devens sits — whether Lala wins and it's Taylor next to him, or Taylor wins and it's Lala — the bathroom says the shot is live. Barrett: hell yeah. Yash: take the shot. Melody: vote Devens out. And Melody upstairs: Devens is staying, Yash and Barrett are keeping him. Both versions exist; you don't get to pick one as real yet. Dee and Angela's script from yesterday still points at Devens, unrenewed. Drew prefers Devens stays, and earlier this week said he'd scream it — Barrett's tie-keep theory is a guess about that man, not a quote from him.
What's still unlocked: everything. The comp hasn't been played. The vote hasn't been cast. Melody is running two rooms with two truths. Dee's heart versus Angela's knife is a yesterday problem that never resolved. And a camtalk, a bathroom, and a HOH-bed briefing are three different genres — none of them is a ballot.
