Evening Update: If He Sits
Wednesday evening the board has not moved: Drew is HOH; LaTrice, Taylor, and Devens sit. Tomorrow is Blockbuster. Dee and Angela spent the afternoon writing a story for voting Devens out. Barrett said if Devens wins he is fine cutting Lala and looking loyal. Nothing is locked.

Wednesday evening in the house, and tomorrow is the whole ballgame: Blockbuster, then a live eviction, Thursday, September 3. This morning's note had Barrett Pfeiffer alone with a camera, telling you what he does if Rick Devens sits on the block Thursday night. Today the house filled in the rest of the form. Dee Valladares and Angela Murray spent the afternoon writing the story they'll tell when they vote Devens out, and Barrett came back to the camera with the other half of his sentence — the one that starts with "if Devens wins."
What you already have
Board's unchanged, so keep it to one breath: Drew Campbell is HOH, the final nominees are LaTrice Verrett, Taylor Brown, and Rick Devens, and Yash Patel used the veto on himself Monday. Haley Thogmartin is already gone this cycle. Nine remain. Barrett's Tuesday camtalk — if Devens sits, he goes — is in the morning note. What you need is what got added on top of it.
The script
At 2:36 PM, Angela lays it out: they both vote Devens out, and they embellish. Tell the boys — Drew and Barrett — that Devens says he has them wrapped around his finger. Dee tests the weight: is this enough for me to say I cut him? The plan doesn't feel right. She'll add that taking Mallory Aurichio out was Devens' idea, which is the kind of detail you add when the truth isn't pulling its weight.
By 2:39 PM her heart can't vote him out — but Angela's can, and Dee can say Angela did it. Angela declines: then I look disloyal and they'll be against me. Nobody wants to hold the knife. Everybody wants the body.
At 2:40 PM they run the other branch. If Devens wins Blockbuster, Dee asks, why get rid of Lala — she's easy to manipulate. Who's the fourth vote to save her? Angela: there is no fourth. Barrett won't do it, even though Lala thinks he will. If Devens wins, Angela says, it's a normal week. If not, they will think on things.
At 2:41 PM Dee turns to the cameras: F, this is hard. A few minutes later she tells Angela she had a nightmare about the vote. Angela's counsel is brisk — they're dispensable, tell the boys Devens makes fun of them — but she also knows Dee is closer to Devens than to the boys, which is the whole problem.
Contingency shopping after that. At 2:49 PM, Dee notes that if Barrett and Drew get mad, they can go be with Yash and Taylor. Angela's version: make the boys feel shitty, lie, embellish, keep it with them. By 2:51 PM they're hunting intel — get something out of Devens about his alliance with the boys; why is Melody Morris so confident (Drew must be telling her things). Dee's flinch: I can't vote him out, I won't be able to look at him. Angela's price of admission: Dee told her Devens didn't see Angela going far with them, and that was all it took. The math, said out loud: if they take Devens out, they're outnumbered — Dee, Angela, Drew, Barrett. Angela's comfort: Yash can't put us up. If Devens stays? Forget this stuff till next time.
Taylor campaigns like someone who can read. Just after 2 PM she asks Dee: if I sit next to Lala, what happens? Devens stays regardless. A sympathy vote so Lala doesn't take a zero? Dee sends her to Devens. Taylor hates campaigning against Lala. It probably won't matter.
Barrett's other sentence
At 3:42 PM, Barrett is back at the camera. If Devens wins Blockbuster, he's okay voting Lala out and looking loyal to the Crossovers. He understands Yash's points. So now you have both halves: sharpie if Devens sits, Lala if he doesn't. Then he shops the future: if there's a double eviction and Devens goes, he'd nominate Dee and Angela, and maybe talk Melody into cutting Yash. "Devens and Yash in the same night, insane."
Around 3:50 PM Devens joins him in the gym, packing a bag with his mouth. He's going hard for Blockbuster. He thanks Barrett for nurturing him. He thought he'd be tripping more; there's still 24 hours. Barrett asks: if you win, is Lala what you want? Right now, Lala — if you change your mind, I'm down. Devens has noticed Angela and Dee aren't talking to him much. He figures they don't want him paranoid, which is a sentence you should sit with. Drew said nothing to worry about, but go win it. Thursday plan: physical and mental warfare against Taylor and Lala. He does not want to lose to those two.
The week on tape
Tonight's episode is the TV version of the week the house already lived: Yash winning Year 1000 and pointing at Haley, Zingbot, Drew's HOH, Yash winning a gold-panning teeter-totter veto and taking himself off, Drew naming Devens. Melody's DR calls Drew's noms embarrassing and backbone-free — she still likes him, but their game goals don't align. Drew's DR: putting up Devens was the easy path since he offered, and Dee would've come back with a vengeance. On feeds during the episode, one more table read — at 6:32 PM Dee runs the voting-out story past Angela, who rates it "good enough" and assigns delivery: I tell Yash, you tell Melody. I will lie whatever.
After the show it's grocery talk and games. Recap accounts have the house hiding from Drew in the HOH shower, and Devens looking nervous, which is at least thematically correct.
Thursday
If Devens sits, Barrett has a sharpie and Dee and Angela have a script with two rehearsals. If he wins, Barrett says Lala, and Dee says forget it till next time. A camtalk is still not a ballot, and a script is still not a vote. See you at the live show.
