The BB28 Premiere Week Watch Plan
Premiere week finally has real structure: a 90-minute launch on Thursday, July 9, Unlocked on July 10, and another 90-minute episode on Sunday, July 12. The feeds, cast reveal, hosts, and format details still need official timing. Here is what is confirmed, what is pending, and what PocketBB will track first.

Start here first: BB28 Season Preview is the broader preseason guide for confirmed dates, pending details, and rumor boundaries. This watch plan is the week-of checklist.
The dates are real and on the calendar. A few logistics are still TBD. Here's how to plan your week and what we'll be watching.
After a preseason that mostly consisted of staring at a wall waiting for news, we finally have a concrete schedule. So before the rumor mill spins back up, here's the part you can actually build your week around.
Confirmed: the premiere-week calendar
Per Gold Derby and the published CBS schedule coverage:
- Thursday, July 9 - Season premiere, 8 p.m. ET, a special 90-minute episode.
- Friday, July 10 - Big Brother: Unlocked, the companion series, kicks off.
- Sunday, July 12 - Second episode, also a 90-minute show.
From Week 2 onward, the franchise settles into its familiar rhythm: 90-minute Veto episodes Wednesdays at 8, live hour-long evictions Thursdays at 8, and hour-long Head of Household episodes Sundays at 8. So premiere week is front-loaded and heavy, then the season finds its standard three-night groove.
The milestone backdrop is real too: BB28 is positioned to become the first primetime entertainment series in U.S. history to cross 1,000 original episodes. With 975 in the bank, it needs 25 more, which lands the milestone roughly around August or September given typical season length. So the 1,000th episode itself won't fall in premiere week - it's a season-long countdown, not a launch-night event.
Expected, not yet nailed down
The live feeds are coming - feeds on Paramount+ and Pluto TV are part of the franchise's standard offering. What hasn't been officially pinned is the exact start time. The reasonable expectation, based on past years, is that feeds switch on shortly after the West Coast broadcast of the July 9 premiere. We'll treat the precise feed-launch moment as pending until CBS says so.
Unlocked hosts are also technically unconfirmed in the sources reviewed here. The reasonable expectation is that the companion show continues its recent shape, but the host lineup belongs in the pending column until CBS says it out loud.
Worth a note for paranoia-tracking: the site timeline picked up chatter about a preseason YouTube live-feed test. Interesting, possibly nothing, definitely not confirmation of a platform change. We are flagging it, not building on it.
What PocketBB will track from night one
This is where the almanac earns its keep. From the premiere forward, we'll be logging:
- The first HOH and the shape of the opening week - who grabs early power and whether the house forms a fast majority or fractures.
- Alliance formation in the first 72 hours - the feeds' richest window, where the real season often gets written before the edit shows you any of it.
- Any returnee/format reveal - if the rumored legacy elements are real, premiere night is the first place we'd see them confirmed on screen rather than in a screenshot. We'll mark exactly how any returning players are used: full-time, comp host, or twist device.
- Twists and any fan-vote mechanic - the leak floated a fan vote handing out advantages or punishments. If that exists, we want the receipt of when it appears and how it works.
- Power timeline and loud-day flags - the running record that lets us, later, explain how a winner got there instead of just naming one.
What we're explicitly NOT treating as confirmed going in
To keep the premiere coverage honest: the Time Trip theme, returning players, legacy recreations, the fan vote, and any specific finale date are all still rumor as of now. CBS has confirmed the schedule and the milestone; it has not confirmed the format. If premiere night validates the leaks, great - we'll say so loudly and update the relevant notes. If it doesn't, that's a story too.
The short version
Block out July 9 for a long premiere, July 10 for Unlocked, July 12 for round two, then settle into Wednesday/Thursday/Sunday. Expect feeds shortly after the premiere, expect a familiar Unlocked setup, and expect a milestone payoff later in the run. Everything beyond that - the theme, the vets, the twists - is what we'll be watching to confirm in real time. See you on the feeds.
