The veto ceremony is done, and it went exactly the way the house telegraphed it would: Taylor Brown used the Power of Veto on herself, and Haley Thogmartin put Lyric Medeiros in the third chair. The Week 4 board is now Drew Campbell, Melody Morris, and Lyric — and the more interesting story is everything that happened around that outcome, because Lyric spent the overnight hours fighting the renom before it happened and Mallory started fighting the vote within an hour of it becoming official.

At 12:41 PM Sunday, Melody told Mallory she didn't trust Lyric and would rather see Lyric go up than Mallory. That's a nominee lobbying for a specific replacement, which is a real move, and it lined up neatly with where Haley's head already was.

By evening, Haley was confirming the shape of the week to anyone who needed to hear it. At 6:22 PM she told Lala that Drew remained her target, and at 7:15 PM — after making Mallory sit through a conversation about replacement options — she explicitly told Mallory she would not put her up. Note the sequence there: Haley forced the uncomfortable conversation first, then handed out the reassurance. That's an HOH who wants people to feel the possibility before she removes it.

There was one wrinkle worth logging. At 6:20 PM, Taylor told Chuk her feelings were hurt by Haley questioning her character — but she was careful to say she didn't have a problem with Haley. File that as bruise, not fracture. Taylor ultimately did exactly what the house expected and saved herself.

The clearest window into the renom logic came after midnight. The aftermath: a fracture Haley seems happy about

The post-ceremony hours split into two threads: people explaining the renom, and people trying to weaponize it.

On the explanation side, at 1:44 PM Melody told Taylor that Lyric's information leaks were why she went up. Coming from Melody — who lobbied for exactly this outcome on Sunday — that's less neutral analysis than a nominee narrating a version of events that keeps the heat off herself. Still, it matches Haley's stated distrust, so it's the house's working story.

The more revealing conversation came at 2:00 PM, when Haley and Angela talked about the renom as something that could break up Lyric's relationships. Angela said she loved what Haley did and noted that Mallory cried for Lyric. Read that carefully: Haley isn't just parking Lyric on the block as a pawn. 2. How Lyric campaigns now that she's actually on the block. Her overnight pitch to Chuk showed she'll name names and offer deals. On the block, with less to lose, that could get louder — and her Mallory information could cut in unpredictable directions.
3. Whether Haley enforces her own target. She spent the week saying Drew is the one. If Mallory's flip talk gains traction, Haley will have to decide whether to spend HOH capital keeping the votes in line or let the house drift.
