Morning Update: Mallory Goes, Feeds Go Dark

Friday morning the board is empty on purpose. Drew won Blockbuster; Mallory left 6–2. Melody and Barrett voted Taylor; the other six voted Mallory. Julie announced Year 1000: no HOH, no veto, no Blockbuster. Feeds are down until after Sunday. Jury is not confirmed.

Thursday morning, you were waiting for a Blockbuster. By Thursday night you had your answer, and then some. Drew Campbell won the comp. Mallory Aurichio walked out 6–2. Julie Chen Moonves shredded the normal week on live TV — no HOH, no veto, no Blockbuster — and told you the feeds would go dark until after Sunday. It's Friday morning in the house now, and the board is empty. That's not a bug. That's the show.

The Cliptacular

Around 6:00 PM, the Blockbuster starts: Drew vs Taylor Brown vs Mallory, in a comp called BB Grand Cliptacular. Two screens, clues matched against 60 memorable Big Brother moments, split into A, B, and C. First houseguest to lock a letter owns it. This is the 1000th episode, so the show gets to be sentimental about itself while three people sweat for their lives.

Drew is first back and locks C. Mallory tries C — already taken — and settles for A. Taylor takes B.

Drew wins. He hugs Mallory, which is the kind of thing you do when you've just guaranteed she's leaving. Julie confirms it.

The 6–2

At 6:11 PM, the final noms are Mallory vs Taylor, and the votes come in. HOH Dee Valladares doesn't vote. Eight ballots — Haley Thogmartin voted on air, even if Jokers' first voting-crew list forgot her.

Votes to evict Taylor: Melody Morris and Barrett Pfeiffer.

Votes to evict Mallory: Angela Murray, Drew, Yash Patel, Haley, Rick Devens, and LaTrice Verrett.

Julie calls it: Mallory, evicted, 6–2. Drew voted with the Icons. Melody and Barrett didn't.

Mallory gets a standing ovation from the alumni crowd on her way out. In her chat with Julie, she makes it clear she is not a fan of Dee's game, and says this move made Dee more enemies. File that under exit-interview analysis, which is worth exactly what it costs.

The wreckage

The feeds stay on for a while after the show, which is how you know the following.

At 6:41 PM, Devens delivers the eulogy: the Pipe Queen will be missed, and being so loved is exactly why she had to go. Devens has never met a knife he couldn't twist politely.

Same window: Drew asks Melody for a hug. She says no.

Then Melody says the quiet part. He lied for weeks. She trusted him — past tense, and she means the tense. He voted out her best friend. Drew admits he lied. He also says he still wants Melody in his final two, which is a bold thing to want from someone who just declined physical contact.

At 6:59 PM, Drew tells Dee he wishes he'd voted to keep Mallory — it would've been 5–3 — but he picked a side. He won't sell out Barrett. So the regret is real, but it's regret with a seatbelt on.

At 7:18 PM, Barrett sums up the evening better than anyone: "Drew lost his hair brush, I lost my pipe queen." Two minutes later, Haley tells Devens she's over Yash, and Devens agrees Yash has to go. The next war starts before the last body is cold.

Then, from roughly 7:27 to 7:35 PM, Melody sits in the gym pretend-calling her mom, sobbing. So dumb. Five hundred warning signs. "I have to win." She's not wrong about any of it.

Year 1000, and the lights go out

Back to Julie. Year 1000 will test the houseguests socially and physically. No HOH this week. No veto. No Blockbuster. Someone's game will end anyway. The Sunday episode airs at 9 PM ET, and the feeds are down about three days — back after that episode. She also told a booing alum, "Calm down Beavis," which is the best thing to happen to a live eviction in years.

At 8:21 PM, the house gathers on standby. By 8:24, you're looking at animals. You're still looking at animals this morning. There are no Friday-morning feed updates because there are no Friday-morning feeds.

So the Week 8 board reads: no HOH, no noms, no veto. That's accurate. Week 7 is closed, Week 8 is a blank page, and whatever the twist eliminates, you'll find out when CBS decides you find out. We're not going to invent a Friday HOH, because there isn't one.

About the jury

You've seen it on your timeline already: fans calling Mallory a pre-juror. Here's what's actually confirmed: nothing. Julie did not say Mallory is a juror. She did not say jury has started. There's no "first member of the jury" line anywhere in the updates.

The closest thing on record is house talk — Drew and Melody, around 12:55 AM Tuesday, saying they were "1 week away from jury. Only 5 weeks left." That's their math, not CBS's. Ten houseguests remain, a twist is about to end someone's game, and the show has told you nothing about where that person goes. So we wait. That's the job.
