Lunch Update: Melody Called Mom

Lunch on Wednesday, and the noms are still Angela, Haley, and Kamu. Overnight Melody talked herself into keeping Kamu on a fake phone call — then sat in a FAP meeting where Mallory said nothing will make her keep him. Yash finally told Kamu that Mallory would vote him out. Drew wants to lie and stay good with both sides in case Kamu wins Blockbuster. Morning was movies and suitcases. Nothing is locked until Thursday.

Lunch Update: Melody Called Mom

Lunch on Wednesday, and the board hasn't moved an inch since last night's check-in. What moved was everything underneath it: overnight, the house ran two contradictory Kamu plans in parallel rooms, Melody delivered a full keep-Kamu argument to a phone that does not exist, and FAP passed a rock and a cough drop around the hot tub room and asked it for an HOH. Wednesday morning was movies and suitcases. Here's the lunch read.

The board, one beat

Nothing new to stamp. Yash's HOH, Devens' diamond veto spent on Dee, Kamu the replacement, and final noms of Angela, Haley, and Kamu — all exactly where we left them in last night's 24-hour checkpoint. Blockbuster and eviction are still Thursday. The suspense this week isn't the nominations. It's which of two overnight plans survives contact with the Blockbuster result.

Late Tuesday: Yash finally says it out loud

One aftermath beat and we're moving on: around 10 PM, Angela filled Devens in on the Lala bathroom conversation, Taylor told Angela it was inappropriate, and Angela shrugged that she wasn't going to feed Lala starting drama with Haley (Jokers, plus updater accounts). That thread is parked for now.

The real motion started at 10:31 PM. Yash and Taylor clocked Drew and Barrett hanging with Devens and Dee and didn't love it. When Melody came out of DR, Yash told her flatly that Drew and Barrett are with the Icons and that M&M need to work the back end Wednesday. Melody's reply was the load-bearing sentence of the night: Mallory is not going to vote Angela out over Kamu. Yash agreed it gets dicey if Kamu leaves — Drew and Barrett go where the power is (updater accounts).

Then, to his credit, Yash didn't sit on it. At 11:03 PM he told Kamu directly: Melody just said Mallory would vote him out. Yash called Drew "a fraud," Kamu pointed out Drew was the one who warned him Mallory was coming after him, and Yash upgraded to "slimeballs" for the pair (Jokers). Kamu now knows the votes may not be there. That matters for Thursday.

The fake phone

The lunch hook. From roughly 11:05 to 11:23 PM, Melody sat alone in the gym and held a full pretend phone call with her mom, and it is the clearest window into her game we've gotten all week.

The greatest hits, per Jokers: she's wasted being in an alliance with a good name (RIP Mosh Pit); on Devens' diamond veto, "Fuck that, you don't get to make all the big moves." She does not trust a word Angela says. And then she ran the vote both ways out loud. Keep Kamu: her count was Melody, Lala, Mallory, Yash, Taylor, Kamu — "6 vs 5." Keep Angela: they're seven against Haley, Yash, Taylor, and Lala's four.

To be extremely clear: that six is Melody's phone math, not a whip count. It includes Mallory, who spent the next hour of feeds saying nothing will make her keep Kamu. The phone does not get a vote either.

The most interesting line: "Why do I all of a sudden trust Yash more than these motherfuckers?" — the motherfuckers being Drew and Barrett. Men will always pick each other, she said; they need to turn their backs on the Icons. Per updater accounts, she landed on "unfortunately I feel like we have to keep Kamu," reasoning the Icons are using FAP as a shield and Drew and Barrett may have been with the Icons the whole time.

Hold that thought, because she then walked into a FAP meeting arguing the opposite direction.

HOH: sword and shield, again

While Melody was on the phone, Yash and Kamu were in the HOH prepping to cross-examine Drew, whom they saw coming. Yash's read going in: Angela stays no matter what, and Drew is the vote they most need (updater accounts).

The session, per Jokers:

  • 11:28 PM — Kamu flagged that Dee talks to Drew constantly and wanted him nominated days ago. Yash said to count on Melody more than Mallory.
  • 11:33 PM — Yash: we need Melody and Mallory; we have Melody and hopefully she has Mallory. Kamu: I will win Blockbuster.
  • 11:38 PM — Kamu tested Drew: we keep Angela over Haley, right? Drew: yes, Angela is an easy third nom every week.
  • 11:49 PM — Yash gamed it out: if Kamu stays, the next HOH is theirs. If Kamu goes home on his HOH, "it's an L." His best-case stamp of this week: he already has the W and the OTEV, the diamond is flushed, and Haley goes.
  • 11:59 PM — Yash, on the diamond veto: "You can suck my dirty dick with your little power." Noted for the record.
  • 12:00 AM — Kamu made the pitch he's been making all week: as long as he's in the house, the Icons target him, which is everyone else's safety. Yash named it — sword and shield. Kamu wants no Icons in jury; Yash doesn't trust Dee or Angela back there.

Kamu also floated a "Rookies" seven to Mallory earlier in the night; per updater accounts, Drew told him to win Blockbuster and HOH first, then form it. Which is a very Drew answer, as you're about to see.

FAP in the hot tub: the plan, the lie, the rock

From about 12:15 to 1:11 AM, FAP — Drew, Barrett, Mallory, Melody — worked the other plan in the hot tub room.

The fixed point: Drew said they are not voting out Angela no matter what (updater accounts). Mallory recapped why keeping Kamu only helps Yash, warned that Kamu and Yash will drill them all day Wednesday, and said — this is the quote of the meeting, paraphrased from updaters — nothing in the world will make her keep Kamu.

The fight was about honesty. Mallory does not want to blindside Yash and Taylor; she'd rather tell them FAP is evicting Kamu. Drew wants to lie — keep assuring Kamu he has the votes, in case Kamu wins Blockbuster and they need to stay good with him (Jokers, 12:41 AM). Drew actually expects Kamu to win Blockbuster, noting Haley hasn't beaten him at anything. His stated best case: Kamu loses, they blindside, Kamu goes. Worst case: Haley goes and everyone stays kumbaya (updater accounts).

Drew's read on the HOH: Yash is a mini Kamu, "for the boys," and everything told to Yash goes straight to Kamu (updater account). Barrett shrugged that no matter what, two of the three "cool kids" are gone soon, and — per an updater — asked Mallory whether she'd go after Taylor/Yash/Lala or the Icons if she won HOH. She said she'd side with the Icons. Notably, M&M had privately agreed not to give Drew more info, so file that answer accordingly.

At the 12:31 AM formal meeting, Barrett worried about who Kamu would nominate if he stays and wins; Drew's answer was that Kamu isn't going anywhere anyway, he'll win Blockbuster, so stay good with both sides — and if FAP can't win an HOH at 7 vs 3, they deserve to go home (Jokers).

Then, at 1:07 AM, the rock ceremony. Mallory asked for protection, jury, an HOH win, and no targets. They passed a rock and a cough drop around and hummed. Drew later asked if they're the weird people; Barrett assured him the weird people die violently (Jokers). It is not a deal. It is a rock. Also overnight, per an updater, FAP announced the acronym stands for "For the American People," which is the funniest possible retcon and changes nothing.

Melody and Drew, after hours

The night's last beat, 1:42–2:19 AM, and the one that keeps Melody from fitting in any box. She told Drew she'd ranted 500 scenarios to "mom." Then the pointed part: what if FAP does this for the Icons and next week all bets are off — they're doing the Icons' dirty work, exactly like Chuk, Haley, and Kamu did before them (Jokers). Drew reassured her: he knows he's her number two behind Mallory, and later, "you got me 100%" (Jokers). Per an updater, the read is Melody soft-launching an evict-Angela, turn-on-the-Icons pivot while still being suspicious of Drew himself.

So over one night, Melody: argued keep-Kamu to a fake phone, sat in a FAP meeting whose plan is Kamu out, and then told Drew they're the Icons' errand runners. She hasn't flipped anything. She's shopping.

Wednesday morning: suitcases

Feeds back around 9:57 AM to nothing. Movies at the dining table, Mallory walking laps in the HOH, and nominee suitcases in storage at 11:32 AM (Jokers). No new vote lock, no new meetings. The house said everything it had to say before 2:30 AM.

Thursday branches — pitches, not locks

  • Haley wins Blockbuster: Kamu vs Angela. FAP's stated plan is Kamu out, and Mallory says nothing will change that. Yash is still working to save him, and Melody's phone math points the other way. This is the branch where the house actually has to pick.
  • Kamu wins: Haley vs Angela. Yash's preferred world. Drew has said Angela stays no matter what, which would send Haley out with minimal drama.
  • Angela wins: Haley vs Kamu. FAP leans Kamu; Yash leans Haley. Same fight as branch one, different bystander.

Every one of those is a pitch someone made overnight, not a count. Back after the Blockbuster.
