Evening Update: The Shot Is Taylor
Monday evening. No new key. Drew says his best shot is Taylor winning Part 3 and taking him. Thursday still decides.
Monday evening, September 28, and the board looks exactly like it did Sunday morning. No Head of Household. No key. Part 3 is still Rick Devens versus Taylor Brown, live Thursday, October 1, and Drew Campbell is still in the house watching the race he's not in. What's new is his read. At 10:08 AM, minutes after feeds returned, he told the backyard camera his best shot of winning is Taylor winning Part 3 and taking him. His words. A path to a win, not a locked Final Two. Both finalists said Saturday they'd take him, and that seat is still just talk. Saturday's pitch and the midnight speech are in Morning Update: They Both Say Drew.
Saturday he said he'd be okay finishing second next to Devens and livid finishing second next to Taylor. Monday's line is a different question: which seat gives him a shot to win. Those can both be true. One is about how losing would feel. The other is about which opponent he thinks he can beat.
The wine report.
At 10:12 AM Drew said Taylor and Devens were bickering hard last night, and at 10:14 AM he added that they got a little wine and that set them off. That's Drew's account. There's no transcript of the argument on the updates — no subject, no starter, no winner — so we're not inventing one.
Separately, and earlier: around 10:59 PM Sunday, Taylor said Devens was dad-drunk, tore up, like three drinks, and that he was funny. That's a joke about the wine, not a report of the fight. Two different reports, two different hours. Keep them apart.

Sunday, September 27 was phone day. Around 1:15 PM Drew yelled that they had a phone, and at 1:54 PM he told the video he loves the Blockbuster, loves the veto, was put on the block five times, and doesn't think people here like him very much. That five is this video's number; his Saturday-night practice speech said six, with five saves. Both are his words at different hours, neither is a verified stat. Same video, Devens did a bit: "What's up everybody, it's your boy Devens. Still in the Big Brother house against all odds. I have one person especially that I can thank for that." Drew: "Thank you to my dad!" Devens: "My son Drew." A bit, not a new alliance.
The afternoon was small stuff. At 2:23 PM Devens said he'll be curious about Drew's romantic life after the show; Drew said he doesn't know, he's only 22. From 2:34 to 2:45 PM Drew taught Devens Mancala outside and won, and Devens called it BS and said this might be his last game. At 2:38 PM Drew delivered "I've gotta do what's best for my game," noting he hadn't said the line all season and that on Big Brother everyone says it at nomination ceremonies — his observation, no ceremony attached. At 3:59 PM Taylor said her birthday is in two days; Drew asked what she'd wish for, and she said to win. At 4:23 PM Drew claimed his chip never got pulled once all year and Devens's got pulled once at the end — his claim, not a confirmed stat — and at 4:24 PM Taylor said she doesn't know her own stats and the two went over vetoes she played in.
The episode ran 7:14 PM to 8:15 PM — CBS Big Brother 28, episode 40 — and moved nothing on the board. It opened on Dee Valladares leaving Thursday night. Drew's Diary Room: evicting Dee would let him at least sit in the Final Two chair, because he believes both Devens and Taylor would take him. Taylor walked into the pod and said Drew made a bad decision and signed up for second place; her Diary Room said Final Three is pretty good out of 17 and she won't stop until the whistle blows. Devens told Drew he's never had an alliance member this deep into a game and he's full of gratitude. The aired jury segment added one new piece: Angela talking about Melody and Drew playing in the pool, and Melody's Diary Room calling it strange that a woman in her fifties is commenting on her and Drew. That's the segment, and that's all it is.
At 8:11 PM the episode showed Final HOH Part 1: the Final Three on a spinning log holding kite strings, lightning shocking their hands, rain, Taylor nearly falling and recovering, last one standing wins and auto-advances to Part 3. The on-screen date read June 8, 1752 — which is what the episode displayed, not a ruling on the house argument where Drew said 1775 and Taylor said 1752, and we're not picking a year either. The result was already known: Taylor won Part 1. The episode showed it; it didn't hand her anything new.
Sunday night into Monday afternoon.
After the show they were outside — Taylor in a tiny gold birthday hat, full moon. A beetle showed up and Drew named it Dentin, because it has a dent and dentin is a dental term, with a side joke about calling it Yash. Devens said it was the most exciting thing on the feeds in two days. Drew joked that Dentin will bring him more of Melody's hair — a joke, nothing more. Taylor declined pool and the phone; Drew and Devens played, and around 11:54 PM Devens said he can't wait to go home and hustle people at pool, with Drew noting they won't know he's been playing for 87 days — Drew's number, not a verified count. About 12:16 AM Monday, Devens put the phone in the going-out box and told the camera. Lights out around 1:00 AM, all three in bed.
Monday was quiet. Feeds returned at 10:05 AM to Taylor in her pod bed, Drew in the main bathroom, and wake-up announcements. At 10:38 AM Devens joined Drew in the backyard to study competition dates. At 10:46 AM Taylor washed her hands, brushed her teeth, and went back to bed; Devens told Drew that Big Brother had been trying to get her up. At 10:55 AM: "No napping, House Guests." Taylor, from bed: "I'm not sleeping." At 11:06 AM: "Rise and shine, House Guests." Taylor: "I'm not sleeping. I'm studying."
The afternoon barely moved. Drew ate alone at the dining table at 1:47 PM, Devens snacked at 2:04 PM, and by 2:09 PM they were laying on separate backyard couches saying nothing to each other. Taylor sat down in her pod bed at 2:33 PM and lay down a minute later. At 2:37 PM both guys were resting their eyes outside. Then at 3:43 PM Devens asked Drew to play bags, and by 3:51 PM they were at cornhole, with Drew noting they're actually filming this, that people are watching him get beaten badly, and that the kid will find his groove if you give him a second. At 3:58 PM Devens announced the score — 20-4, "just in the Rick of time" — that's a cornhole score, not a season stat — and Drew said he's playing the long game. At 3:59 PM Drew said Buffalo Wild Wings is at the top of his list; Devens said his local one closed, and he used to watch the game there. At 4:07 PM Drew wondered whether his family gets a hotel or just drives to the finale. A wonder, not a plan. At 4:09 PM Devens said Taylor has not been outside today. Drew said she has had no interaction today and he can't do that — he needs time with people. Taylor said she likes it inside. Devens said to each their own, and that he likes a mix. That's the last receipt. The feeds did not stop there.
Where that leaves it. Nothing has moved since Sunday morning. No key, no new Head of Household, and Part 3 is still Devens versus Taylor, live Thursday, October 1, at 8:00 PM Eastern, 5:00 PM Pacific, 90 minutes. The winner of Part 3 is the last Head of Household and picks the Final Two. Drew is still active and still out of the race. Both finalists' Saturday plan to take him is still the standing house position, and it is still not a lock. The new line is his own: Monday morning, to the camera, his best shot is the Taylor seat. Thursday is when that shot either exists or it doesn't.
