Evening Update: Kamu Leaves the Block Alone—and the House Picks Its Sides

The veto ceremony changed nothing: Barrett, Chuk, and Haley remain nominated, with Kamu leaving LaTrice’s nominations intact. Kamu made the non-use a public break from the Toolshed, calling the alliance a lie after feeling iced out. Barrett appears comparatively safe, while Chuk insists he has support that others doubt; Haley remains the clearest target but can escape through Thursday’s Blockbuster. Drew and Barrett are already naming Haley, Chuk, Yash, and Taylor as pre-jury targets, while Dee prefers keeping Kamu and targeting LaTrice or Yash. Taylor also floated a tentative four with Devens, Kamu, and possibly Yash.

The veto ceremony is done, and the block looks exactly like it did this morning: Barrett, Chuk, and Haley are still nominated. Feeds cut to animals at 12:39 PM Monday and came back at 1:31 PM, and every conversation since has run on the same three names. No veto use, no replacement nominee. Kamu held the power and left LaTrice's nominations unchanged.

If that outcome feels anticlimactic, it's because the real drama happened before the feeds ever cut.

The break-up before the ceremony

Kamu spent the late morning turning a private plan into a public position. At 9:53 AM he walked Haley through why he was hesitant to use the veto. She didn't buy his reasoning, but told him she and Chuk had made peace with whatever came—and Kamu privately told her he was rooting for her to win the Blockbuster. By 10:19 AM, LaTrice and Taylor were saying out loud that the veto was staying in its box.

Then Kamu made the rounds himself. Between 10:50 and 11:09 AM he told Chuk directly that he wasn't using it, then repeated the message to Drew. And he didn't frame it as strategy-neutral housekeeping. He called the non-use a statement, said he was finished with the Toolshed, and called that alliance a lie after being iced out of the Lyric-versus-Melody vote. Whatever the Toolshed was, Kamu just resigned from it on the record.

Meanwhile, the campaigning had already started. At 11:38 AM, Barrett asked Chuk not to let the eviction become an 11–0 vote, saying she expected ugly heat and considered herself the primary target. Worth flagging: that's a nominee's pitch before the ceremony, not a vote count. Nobody has receipts on eleven votes going anywhere yet.

The geometry after the ceremony

Feeds returned at 1:31 PM to Dee praising Barrett's speech and shaking Kamu's hand—about as much ceremony detail as the receipts give us, so that's all we'll claim. The positioning talk started almost immediately.

By 1:36 PM, Drew and Taylor were saying the house had a preference and Barrett appeared comfortable. Taylor openly mocked Chuk's claim that he had the votes against Barrett. Chuk, for his part, said the line had been drawn and called the whole situation pure Big Brother—which is either defiance or denial, depending on how his count actually holds up.

So the shape of the week, as of Monday evening: Barrett looks comparatively safe, Chuk believes he has support the house doesn't seem to be offering, and Haley remains the clearest target—with one live escape route. The Blockbuster on Thursday is her lane out, and even Kamu is quietly pulling for her there.

Everyone's already playing next week

The block may be frozen, but the planning isn't. Between 2:36 and 2:46 PM, Drew and Barrett mapped out pre-jury targets. Drew named Haley, Chuk, Yash, and Taylor as the people he wants gone before jury, and he and Barrett agreed Taylor is one of the smartest players in the house—which in Big Brother math is a compliment and a death sentence in the same sentence. Dee argued a different angle: keep the influenceable Kamu around and aim at LaTrice and Yash instead. In the same stretch, Devens talked through his existing DPOV and how long it stays usable—that's him discussing a power he already holds, not anything newly won.

The social framing of the nominees hardened too. Around 4:00 PM, Angela said she still likes Chuk but stressed it's a game, and LaTrice criticized how Chuk acts around Haley, comparing it to a Stepford-wife effect. When the house starts describing a pair in those terms after a ceremony, it usually means the pair is being priced as a unit.

And late in the evening, at 7:16 PM, Taylor was sketching a possible four with Devens and Kamu, possibly including Yash, with each member keeping a tether to another player. The receipt is abbreviated, so treat the exact membership as tentative—an idea being floated, not a formed alliance. But the fact that Taylor is building the same evening Drew put her name on a target list tells you how fast this house moves.

House texture

Not everything was war-gaming. At 1:49 PM, the live conversation drifted into a retrospective laugh about Drew's earlier Blockbuster win—old news, but the fresh bit was Chuk joking that the competition should last two hours instead of under two minutes. Given his week, you understand the request. At 5:15 PM, Melody staged a pretend phone call to her mother, hoping mom was proud and didn't think she was being too mean. And Mallory sang that if nobody could find her, she was probably on the hammock—which, honestly, is the healthiest game plan anyone announced all day.

Thursday's Blockbuster is now the whole week. Until then, the block is set and the sides are picked.
