Evening Update: The Icons Sit

Friday night Barrett named all three Icons: Angela, Dee, and Devens. The fun reveal was the plan. Three still sit. Veto is next. Drew is already saying he has no one but the people he just helped put up.

Evening Update: The Icons Sit

Friday evening in the house, and the board finally has names on it. This afternoon's note left you with an empty nomination slot and Barrett Pfeiffer promising a "fun reveal." The reveal happened at 5:16. He nominated Angela Murray, Dee Valladares, and Rick Devens — all three Icons, all at once.

One sentence of board, so nobody has to scroll: Week 9, Barrett is HOH, the nominees are Angela, Dee, and Devens, no veto yet, eight people remain, and jury has started. Dee and Melody Morris are have-nots. Julie said last night that this week's veto is BB Comics — that's a schedule, not a result.

This is still a three-nominee week. The Blockbuster is not over. After the veto, three people still play for the last chair, and two sit Thursday. Keep that in your head while you read the fallout, because the house certainly is.

What you already have

If you read the afternoon note, you have the shape of this. Barrett spent the day telling Melody he wanted a fun reveal, and that only Drew Campbell knew the names. The Icons spent the day suspecting they were it. FAP is still three — Drew, Barrett, Melody — whether or not they're voting like it. Nothing from the overnight camtalk needs rebuilding. The only new thing is that it happened.

The dump before animals

The last hour before the ceremony is when the Yash deal finally hits the table, in front of everyone, in about four different versions.

At 3:37, Barrett asks about the power directly. Yash Patel's version: he agreed not to put Dee up — Dee, not the three. Dee's version: she got a power in week 3, she can't lie about it, and she bribed Yash — you can't put the three up. Devens's version: the deal runs until it's mathematically impossible to nominate them. Yash again: he made the deal with Dee, and Dee could have protected five people if she'd wanted.

Angela, to the room, on her grandchildren: it's all three. She also confirms the thing everyone suspected — the Icons have been an alliance since day 2, and they were with Drew and Barrett too. Drew's contribution: he was the biggest liar in the house, but Yash can take the title.

At 3:49, Yash tells Taylor Brown privately: he took the 5k, he did it with Dee, but covering the other two? "F no." Taylor points out Yash told her that weeks ago. At 3:57, Devens reads the room correctly: Barrett is still putting the three of them up.

Then feeds go to animals from 4:02 to 5:02, and the ceremony happens where you can't see it. Whatever speech Barrett gave, you don't have it.

The ceremony you can prove

5:16, Jokers locks it: nominations are Angela, Dee, Devens. At 5:18 Barrett says the nomination ceremony is adjourned and the house applauds. Barrett hugs Dee and says sorry; Dee says she still loves him. Devens says there's game and there's personal, and hugs Barrett too. By 5:23 the memory wall matches.

The only speech content you get is secondhand: Dee did not like it, and Devens says it wasn't necessary. That's the whole file.

Fallout, in order

At 5:20, Drew says in front of Yash that if he wins, he is cooked. Angela does the math out loud: Yash could be the renom, only one person goes home, and Yash stays anyway. Yash shrugs: 5g's, it's on him.

At 5:37, Devens notes this is his first veto since week 2 and he'd like to keep the streak. There's a joke about replacing Barrett's chips with Yash chips — an elaborate plan to backdoor Yash. Yash, present for this: it's possible. The man is being planned against at conversational volume and answering like a weather report.

At 5:44, Dee calls it a stupid-ass move. Devens: no vote from me. Dee: you have to respect he took a shot. Devens: not a smart shot. Two stay, Dee says, and a good chance of winning.

At 5:45 it gets briefly hot inside the trio. Devens says Drew didn't know noms were coming. Dee says he did. Devens tells her not to F'ing piss him off; Dee apologizes. At 5:52 she tries again anyway — open your eyes about Drew, he'll put Melody before you — and Devens gets mad again. File that one.

At 5:49, Dee and Angela agree: whoever of them stays knows what to do with Barrett, who did this too soon.

The evening consolidates. At 7:08, Drew tells Dee that if it's between the Icons he wants Dee and Devens to stay, and he wants Yash out this week. Dee says she's gunning for the next HOH and putting him up — in a conversation that just named Yash. By 7:11 Drew is at "F Yash, I want Yash out more than Barrett," figures Barrett would pick Melody over him, and lands on: "Now I have no one but the Icons." The man in the three-person alliance says this unprompted.

At 7:24, Dee lays out the branch for Angela: if one of them comes down, Yash goes up, and they think they can get Taylor for the two votes to send him out. Angela wants to work Taylor together. That is a veto-use plan, not a ceremony. Nothing about it is locked.

At 7:25, Dee says she won't go out quiet. Angela wants to go out the Angela Murray way.

Where it stands

Three Icons on the block. BB Comics next. The Blockbuster still looms over Thursday. The only certainties are the names on the wall — everything after the veto is house talk, and you've seen how many versions of house talk this house can hold before 4 PM.
