Evening Update: Devens and Taylor
Friday. Devens won Part 2. Part 3 is Devens and Taylor. Drew is out of the race. No Head of Household yet.
Devens took Part 2, and now it's Devens versus Taylor for the last Head of Household. Friday afternoon, September 25, the feeds came back and the updaters had it by 3:21 PM: Rick Devens won Part 2 of the final Head of Household. Part 3 is Devens against Taylor Brown, live on finale night. Drew Campbell is still in the house — not evicted, not nominated, just out of the race. Nobody has the key yet, and the Final Two is not set.
Taylor won Part 1 Thursday night and was already booked for Part 3; that's covered in Morning Update: Taylor Takes Part 1.
The off-feed window. Feeds cut to animals at 8:51 AM and stayed there — still animals at 2:51 PM. The competition ran somewhere inside that window, off the feeds; that's not a six-hour comp, it's a six-hour blackout. At 3:10 PM a "Big Brother" card, and at 3:12 PM the feeds returned to Devens and Taylor at the dining table, Drew changing and joining them. Devens and Taylor were still in competition costumes. Drew was changing.
What we know about the comp itself. At 3:20 PM Taylor told Drew he did good. Drew, looking sad, said he had Devens in the first round. At 4:00 PM Devens asked Drew what the four rounds were, and they settled on: Head of Household, Veto winner, replacement nominee, and people who made it to Zingbot. That's their after-the-fact reconstruction, not a printed rulebook and not a scoreboard. Drew having the first round is the only round result on the updates — anything more specific than that is invention.
The talk after — and it's all talk. At 3:32 PM Taylor, alone on cam, said Drew made a dumb mistake voting out Dee and signed up for second place. That's her cam talk, not a result — and it's a shift from her pre–Part 2 line that she'd be dumb to take Devens. At 3:42 PM Devens came into Taylor's pod and they congratulated each other. At 3:44 PM, alone in the have-not room, Devens said he can't believe he's doing better on Big Brother than on Survivor — he's close, keep your eye on the ball.
Then the Drew-and-Devens track. At 4:02 PM Drew told Devens he's got Part 3. At 4:05 PM Drew said he doesn't want Taylor to win — his framing: they've played for ten weeks, she's played for two. At 4:07 PM Devens told Drew he wants to win Part 3 and take Drew to the Final Two. That's a plan, not a locked seat. Whoever wins Part 3 picks the Final Two, and until then, nobody's chair is safe.
The board. Empty. No Head of Household, no veto, no nominees. Three people in the house: Taylor, Drew, Devens. Part 3 is the live one — finale is Thursday, October 1, 8:00 PM Eastern, 5:00 PM Pacific, 90 minutes.
